Desiree began her Pilates practice at San Diego State University, in 2008, as a supplement to her dance training. After graduating with a Bachelor in Fine Arts in Dance and enduring numerous dance/car accident injuries, Pilates became a tool for healing, re-strengthening, and conditioning. In 2012, Desiree completed a 500 hour comprehensive training program with Club Pilates. In addition, to this program she continues her education by attending the Pilates Method Alliance Annual Meeting every year since 2013, where she is able to connect with Pilates Masters from around the world and learn more about how Pilates can help every BODY. Now she is able to utilize this method as a way to move through life with more balance, efficiency, and precision. Her approach to teaching the method has a mixture of classical exercises and contemporary flows / adaptations. She also recognizes the many ways to help safely modify for each person individually. When you take her class, expect to challenge your core, integrate/tone your full body, gain strength in flexibility, and feel a little taller when you leave. When she is not teaching Pilates she is dancing professionally for San Diego Dance Theater, The PGK Dance Project, and several local independent artists. She is a certified Massage Therapist and achieved her certification as a Holistic Health Practitioner in 2010. Her next goal is to achieve her Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
