About Ryleigh

The Pilates method has fascinated me since being introduced to the practice at the age of 15. I had a difficult time finding a love for movement & exercise as a child until I started playing Field Hockey. As much as I loved playing this sport & working as part of a team, my body could not sustain the strenuous activity. After years of constant injuries & questioning why my body could not move like my teammates, I decided to explore other activities and forms of exercise. I remember taking my very first Pilates class, getting on the reformer, & falling instantly in love. I had never experienced the bliss of putting my feet in straps and was hooked the moment the instructor taught us leg circles. All the pain I felt from playing an intense sport had almost immediately dissipated. At that moment I knew my life would be forever changed. I moved away from the familiarity of family and friends in Ohio to Oregon on a bus with two bags to my name & an eagerness to create a beautiful life for myself. Working at Club Pilates Eugene, I discovered a strong community of Pilates enthusiasts. The love and passion I hold for Pilates helped me make the decision to become a Certified Mat & Reformer Pilates Instructor with plans to complete my comprehensive certification. I am a lover of slow, methodical, & intentional movement to get the best out of each workout. Consciously connecting to our bodies through breath and functional movement helps create a deeper awareness of our mind, body, & soul working in harmony. While focusing on form, breath, & control we build a better understanding of our own personal movement. I am eager to express my love for Pilates & share how we can each improve through movement. Outside of the studio, you can find me singing, working with energy & sound, participating in ceremonies, attending ecstatic dances, hiking, swimming, experiencing live music, & eating delicious food whether it be made in my kitchen or from my favorite spots around town. Excited to see you in class!
