After Carrie joined Club Pilates Flemington as a member, it seemed natural for me to teach Pilates myself. She enrolled in the Club Pilates teacher training program, and now she enjoys seeing people gain confidence in their daily lives through the strength, coordination, and focus that comes with practicing Pilates.

Stephanie was asked if she would like to take advantage of some free pilates classes she won at a fundraiser. As a personal trainer and avid gym goer, she was skeptical. However, with her wedding fast approaching, she decided it was a good time to try something new. After only her first class she fell in love with Pilates. Being a gymnast for many years, this reminded her of the wonderful feeling of full body movements and stretching. Her low back and hip pain were finally gone! Stephanie was so happy feeling amazing within her body and feeling mentally centered. This soon became a family affair for Stephanie. She knew this was just what her sister, Jess, who is a widow with a young son at home, needed too! Watching her sister’s transformation inspired Stephanie to become a Pilates instructor. Stephanie’s 10 years of personal training has given her experience in working with a variety of people. So signing up for the Club Pilates Teaching Training program was the next logical step. Stephanie has always enjoyed working with people of all fitness levels. Making people feel good about themselves and feeling healthy has always been a joy of her’s. Stephanie looks forward to using her positive approach of encouragement into her Pilates teachings.

Julia is a committed instructor who was hooked on Pilates from the moment she entered the studio in June of 2021. After suffering from major back pain, she was looking for group fitness classes that were motivating to get out of the isolation of Covid -19 pandemic. At the time, sitting on the floor was a challenge and the fitness classes at her gym were not helpful in the rehabilitation from back pain, She knows that Pilates helped her gain strength and flexibility, and in living a more healthful lifestyle. As an English as a Second Language instructor for adults in higher education and a life longer learner who loves to share knowledge with others, she wanted to become a Pilates instructor. As a trained and competitive Ballet dancer, Kristie’s introduction to Pilates began at an early age. Dancing sometimes twenty hours a week, she started each day with Pilates and saw how it helped to improve her flexibility and strength. Kristie continued with her Ballet training at Meredith College where she graduated with majors in Dance, Psychology and Communications. After the birth of her two girls Kristie wanted the strength and energy to keep up with her busy family. She began running and was then introduced to Pilates on the reformer were she quickly saw changes in her physical and mental well-being. Pilates eased the aches and pains of taking care of small children and gave her a way to focus and relax during busy stressful days. Those changes reignited her passion for fitness. She had a desire to show others how Pilates could change their quality of life and decided to become an instructor. Kristie makes personal connections with her students in her classes so the she gets to know their challenges and their strengths. She enjoys seeing a student’s progress and hearing how classes have changed the way they feel and the way they move in their daily activities. She holds certifications in Pilates as well as Barre and has worked with pre and postnatal clients, clients with injuries to their knees, shoulders and backs, as well as breast cancer survivors. When Kristie isn’t in the studio teaching she is spending time with her husband watching their two girls as they pursue their passions for ballet and gymnastics.
