Michele-Olivia Francois has been teaching Pilates for six years. She went through the Pilates training at Drexel Pilates training program under Jennifer Morley. Michele-Olivia is a professional dancer, dance instructor and choreographer who was introduced to Pilates after many knee and back injuries that should have ended her dance career. Pilates not only helped her stay in shape during her recovery periods, but she found that Pilates also improved her dance technique, strength and moving pain free. Pilates is truly helping her be able to perform today for different Philadelphia based dance companies. Aside from Pilates and dance Michele-Olivia has completed her undergrad with a Bachelor of Science in dance with a concentration in physical therapy, followed by a Masters degree in Sport Physical Conditioning, and lastly graduated the end of 2020 with a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy all from Drexel University. Michele-Olivia’s main goal is to teach movement as a source of strength, discovery, communication, and healing. “Change happens through movement and movement heals”- Joseph Pilates.

Dorian has long been passionate about health and nutrition, gardening, cooking, fine arts, and travel. Within only a few sessions, she felt taller, and quickly noticed improvement in her posture and balance. Her body felt great after each session. Soon, she began taking classes almost every day. What began as a journey back to fitness, developed into a new career. Dorian completed her Pilates training program with over 800 hours of training. Additionally, Dorian has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, with a particular devotion to painting, sculpture, and photography. In 1992, Dale took her first Pilates lesson at a studio at 23 and Walnut Street in Philadelphia. After years of competitive running, her exhausted body responded to the gentle healing, improved strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance offered by Pilates classes. In 2003, Dale retired as a Director from Verizon Communications after a 38-year lucrative career. Throughout 2004, Dale certified in Pilates with both Physical Mind and IMX in Manhattan. She continued to study the needs of special populations through Balanced Body on Tour training. Certifying as a personal trainer with IDEA and ACE, Dale also completed a course with Aaron L. Matthes in Activated Isolated Stretching. In January of 2005, Dale opened Studio D Pilates. Offering classical Pilates for private lessons, duets, and group sessions. The studio also welcomed clients suffering from MS, Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia, Scoliosis and Osteopenia. Dale’s undergraduate degree in Business Administration served her well in the corporate world, but she wanted to improve her knowledge of anatomy and physiology so she obtained a Holistic Health certificate from Drexel University, a Physical Aide certificate from MONTCO then transferred to Harcum for Physical Therapy Associate. Dale is an avid golfer and a fitness devotee. She continues her holistic studies as a member of the Montgomery County Homeopathic Group. Amid the pandemic restrictions in March of 2020, Dale closed her studio but continued to work out clients in their homes. She missed the excitement of a studio environment. Dale is so glad to be a part of the Club Pilates family and looks forward to working with all the members and instructors at Club Pilates.

She aims to teach clients about how their bodies move and why with focus and attention placed on the smaller muscles of the body. In addition to teaching Pilates, Sonya continues her movement journey as a board-certified dance/movement therapist and licensed counselor, working specifically with the geriatric population to explore movement in its more organic and expressive form.

Sandi has been working at Club Pilates for 3 years, and is one of our newest Instructors. Sandi quickly made a positive impact on the studio with her enthusiasm and client relationship skills. Her warmth and positive energy are most welcome. She is thankful for the Club Pilates members, friends and family who encouraged her to jump into teaching. Both her high energy and love for her craft, along with the ability to motivate people to be active and fit, have made her a fast favorite. In addition to also being a licensed esthetician, Sandi has always been an avid hiker and adventurer; she is always looking for that next challenge, be it a new workout, or a new spot to explore. Sandi was born with Brachial Plexus Palsy, a condition that limits the use of her right arm, which – in addition to being both dyslexic and ADD – does not restrict her in the very least. In fact, she has found ways to modify various workout moves to accommodate her disability, and encourages those with similar limitations to say “I can” instead of “I can’t”. Sandi and her husband also enjoy traveling, dining out and visiting wineries, and are the proud parents of two cats, Sophie and Zoey. Check out the schedule and give her classes a try!
